Gareth Bale Consoling Loris Karius Was A Beautiful Moment In The Champions League Final
Gareth Bale consoling Loris Karius following the full-time whistle was a beautiful moment in the Champions League final.
Bale and Karius endured a very, very different evening.
While Bale’s night didn’t start off great after being named as a substitute, he eventually made his presence known by bagging a sublime brace including one of, if not the, greatest goals in a Champions League final.
Conversely, Karius had an awful game between the sticks.
He produced a howler to give Real Madrid the lead, then committed another huge error as Bale scored his second goal of the night.
Naturally, Bale was in jubilant mood after steering his side to another European trophy.
Karius, on the other hand, cut a dejected figure as he sincerely apologised to the Liverpool supporters inside Kiev’s Olimpiyskiy stadium.
And following the conclusion of the 2017/18 Champions League campaign, Karius was distraught. He was consoled by Liverpool teammates and coaching staff.
As well as Bale.
The beautiful game. Class gesture, Gareth.
