Fox News host Jesse Watters has made a name for himself by exposing ignorance in the leftist community and by doing some controversial things. Besides touring beach communities and asking bikini-clad women American history questions, Watters also likes to embarrass people right to their face. Recently, he invited a Penn State University doctoral candidate onto his Fox News show to discuss something he personally loves – meat.

The doctoral candidate Anne DeLessio-Parson argues that meat reinforces gender stereotypes. Instead of making the world a more equal place, she claims that it further divides people down the gender line and keeps things imbalanced.

She has studied Argentina’s “meat-centric culture’ and has published an article in the “Journal of Feminist Geography” that argues vegetarianism does not mesh with meat cultures because meat is linked to gender identity.

She writes:

“In patriarchal societies where hegemonic masculinity implies an imperative to eat meat, vegetarianism disrupts food culture, raising questions about how vegetarians do, re-do and rework gender.

“We cannot separate the ways people ‘do vegetarianism’ from how they ‘do gender.’ Doing vegetarianism in interactions drives social change, contributing to the de-linking of meat from gender hegemony and revealing the resisting and reworking of gender in food spaces.”

While sitting in the anchor seat on his Fox News show “Watters’ World,” he decided to challenge her directly. He asked:

“Why is eating meat bad? Really?”

DeLessio-Parson argued the meat culture “can reinforce existing social structures, including patriarchy” by using “symbolism” to indicate the masculinity of biting a steak.

Without missing a beat, she said that eating meat was directly linked to “toxic masculinity.”

But as she was talking, the producers brought out a plate of medium-rare steak for the host to devour in front of the feminist vegan. Watters was eager to eat the meat in front of her and display his masculinity.

She said: “That’s some nice dead animal, dead cow hanging on your fork.”

Watters looks at her and keeps eating the red meat.

She then shifts her focus and says that a society should be judged based on how they treat animals and not just people.

“It’d be great if we had universal health care for our animals.”

She showed off the fancy mug Watters gave her to indicate that America indeed has enough “money.”

With his mouth full of medium-rare steak, Watters chuckles. Then he says, “Really? Because we’re $20 trillion in debt.”

Fox News viewers shared the following thoughts in the YouTube comments. The vast majority of people were stunned that she considered meat a source of “toxic masculinity” given that women eat meat too.

“I am surprised that he was able to keep that good looking steak down considering his guest’s point of view!”

One viewer respected her ability to remain calm despite being ridiculed on national television.

“Watters kept it entertaining as well as in line with FOX so that I would watch him again. And as for Dr. Delessio-Parson. I am interested in her research due to how she was able to express her ideas despite being made fun of. She has a good head on her shoulders.”
